Mallard’s Nest is the second lakeside retreat created by Shanelle after Eagles Nest — and this one was born from something deeply personal and delightfully quirky. When I asked her what inspired the space, she laughed and said, “Well, my husband loves mallard ducks!” Sure enough — their home is covered in mallard-green, duck décor, waterfowl illustrations… so of course, we made that the heart of their branding.

This identity is warm, nostalgic, and family-focused — created for southern travelers seeking comfort, families making lakeside memories, couples escaping for quiet weekends, and anyone who craves a soft landing place that feels like tradition. The palette blends earthy mallard brown, deep pine green, buttercream beige, and lake-lilac softness — colors that feel like morning coffee on the dock and the hush of water lapping at the shoreline. The visuals and art direction carry a sense of gentle southern storytelling — ducks in flight, ripples in water, sunshine slipping over the lake, and interior scenes that whisper: stay a while.

Mallard’s Nest isn’t flashy or pretentious — it’s calm, whimsical in a charming way, and genuinely welcoming. The brand voice feels like friendly porch talk, barefoot mornings, and laughter echoing into the evening. This is a rental that remembers the little things: the slow moments, the inside jokes, the ducks overhead, and the feeling of belonging — even if you’re only there for a weekend.
